How might we design for the possibility towards GEN Z, to reuse their household food waste, thus capturing and preventing landfill waste? Food waste poses a significant environmental challenge, with approximately one-third of all globally produced food being wasted each year, amounting to 1.3 billion tons. Etsaw addresses this issue by offering a practical solution. This kitchen appliance enables individuals to transform vegetable scraps into stock cubes, reducing household food waste. It includes a bin for collecting and storing vegetable scraps, a dehydrator for drying the scraps, a blender for turning them into a powder, a compressor for shaping the powder into finished stock cubes and a stock cube housing for after they have made the stock cubes. By using this appliance, individuals can reduce their overall waste output and make use of otherwise discarded vegetables
