About
Hi! My name is Louisa. I am an illustrator, specialising in realistic, traditional pencil drawings of pets and wildlife. My inspiration is drawn from nature. I apply hints of bold colours into my work to highlight natures beauty, raise awareness of endangered species and influence viewers to love the outdoors as much as I do.
Family pets inspire my artwork. I enjoy walking and running in the countryside with my dog, which sparks my creativity for my next drawing, using positive everyday moments to fuel my work.
“Trails of the Fading” is about my passion for the conservation of threatened species, and my hope to raise awareness with my detailed pencil drawings, to encourage reflection on animal endangerment. My illustrations exhibit just some of the many animals we need to help. For this project, my illustrations have been printed on camping products such as enamel mugs, to inspire people to adventure into the outdoors and take a step away from technology in the fast-paced world. My drawings are symbols of the need for a peaceful coexistence. I focused on my detailed line work to create the different textures for each animal. What’s more, I used hints of bright colours to add character and emotion to each beautiful animal that needs our help. I added layers of depth to bring my pieces to life.
