About
I specialise in conceptual organic fashion design, making dramatic pieces of clothing suited to the world of instillation art, couture runways and bespoke requests. I am well known for my dramatic and large designs, especially the incomparably baggy trousers that I create and make for myself, for clients and friends. I also blend my skill as a digital artist into this practice, by designing graphics for screen printing onto these garments.
I would like to explore the world of instillation art and sculpture moving forward, using my skills as a fashion designer but also as a 3D artist, I have explored many mediums in my practice such as oil painting, terraforming terrariums and water instillations, ceramics, wood and metal work, as well as 3D printing, spray painting and dyeing methods.
My degree course final collection project, explores the conceptual synergy of humans and birds, what it would look like if these two species were to merge and be shown in the context of fashion. I used laser cutting and 3D printing to create bone like structures and panels to apply to garments which I had hand dyed and designed myself. The end result was a six look collection that used a pigeon inspired colour pallet , a combination of denim and canvas, blended with lighter more drapey fabrics to showcase the contrast of flight and anatomical structure.
