Nine jewellery pieces are in search of a rock opera. One neckpiece - the jewellerist, four necklaces, two bracelets and two slabbers are the noisy stars in the hierarchical opera that imitates malleable lives. The wearables seek to find their voice and enable corporal interaction in a white cube gallery or the black box of the punk rock/theatre/ballet stage. Made form collected waste materials from the urban environment and the artist’s domestic quotidian life, the jewellery seems picked up straight off the street but turn out to fit seamlessly and encourage movement. Think Mad Max, Virginia Woolf and recycling bin night all mashed up on the location set of Hasselt, Belgium.
