About
I am a textiles student studying at arts university bournemouth specialising in stitch, embellishments and mixed media. I draw inspiration from key films and aspects of my life, such as dance and the ballet 'Swan Lake'.
a range of samples produced from the starting point of the ballet swan lake and the film the black swan (2010). I used digital print onto natural fabrics and embellished over the top of them with CAD and hand stitching techniques. I also looked at organza fabrics and how they can be manipulated to hold different shapes. these were then visualised on couture fashion collections to create a final line up. This was designed for a spring/ summer collection.
this is a project based on 'the adventures of Alice in wonderland' and 'through the looking glass' by Lewis Carroll. I focused on the imagery throughout the books and created print and CAD embroidery designs from these. I worked with lightweight natural fabrics and added hand finishings such as beading and sequins. this projects visuals were inspired by Maison Margiela Fall/ Winter 2022 collection, I worked towards this with a collaboration with commercial photography at AUB to achieve the same aesthetic of Margiela's work.
