I am final year, soon to be graduate from London College of Fashion, studying Fashion Textiles: Knit. I also have a Merit Foundation in Fashion Textiles from Central Saint Martins.
I am hoping to gain a wealth of experience through Fashion, Textiles and Trend Companies. To give me the broad experience I need to further myself within the industry. I am a versatile creative and feel my skills will fit within many specialisms. However, have recently focused work on trends and presentation, with a key emphasis on colour and texture. I plan to spend a year travelling around SE Asia and Australia, with the hope to advance my understanding of different cultures and environments, and stimulating more creative ideas. I hope to get a knitwear/ design job while travelling in Australia.
I would describe myself as driven, hardworking, professional and creative. I was born in the Netherlands and lived and schooled there until the age of 14, where I then moved to the UK. I then studied GCSE’s and A Levels- studying Art, Textiles and Business achieving A* , A ,B. After this I progressed through my CSM foundation with this then leading me into a degree in Fashion Textiles: Knit at LCF. Through my degree I have continued to grow, develop and gain skills and knowledge to forward into a career path once graduating. I have previously worked in commission work for Mimi Wade and been a New Look Sales Assistant for 2 years. I have completed an internship at Ilana Blumberg, Another Magazine and PHD Advertising Company. Developing my creative experience further I have also entered into Xinao Competition (May 23) and attended Premier Vision in Paris (22&23).
The trends are split into two themes. The first theme called Textural Tranquility ( unisex) is inspired from snowy wintry Landscapes. Both trends involve the use of mixed media responses, craft and dye outcomes and use a range of knit gauges and machinery. The trends are separated by colour and mood.
This menswear project (collaboration) is called Cultural Structures, inspired by classical columns , architectural structures and 90’s Chinese Rock. The palette is neutral and tonal.
The trends are split into two themes. The second theme Soft Subtlety (womenswear) is inspired from sunsets and warm blends. Both trends involve the use of mixed media responses, craft and dye outcomes and use a range of knit gauges and machinery. The trends are separated by colour and mood.
