With interdiciplinary methods Judit explores the boundaries between object and subjects. She seeks connection points between the human being and their surroundings through a shift of perspectives and speculative thinking - often with a root in post humanism and alchemy. In her practice, Judit explores the relation between craft, science and poetry.
Body Electric and the microcosmic being of a thing is an artistic investigation where jewellery is used as a method of self-examination. Appearing as hybrids of prosthetics and laboratory devices, her creations dissect the idea of the human body and its extent. Ultimately, Portraying the human body in a web of multiple material systems. Fritz takes inspiration from early science and speculative thinking and combines it with natural science and futurism, which place her work in a flux of fantasy and reality. Inevitably showing how they are linked, rather than being opposites. In her work, the human body has a strong presence, but is investigated rather as a machinery, where flesh and organics meet the automatic and constant. She puts into question the human constructed distinction of subject and object as unrelated states of beings. On that subject, Fritz demonstrates communications between human body and object through material experiments. For example, how minerals derived from body fluids are altered in the presence of metals and oxides – showing how electricity runs as a fundamental force through emotions to rust, and through living to non-living matter.
