The project, inspired by John Alexander Skelton's CSM Graduation show, blends historical and contemporary narratives through in-depth research. Skelton’s exploration of the cotton trade between India and Britain in the 1920s and the 1936 'Mass Observation' survey influenced the project's concept, focusing on the Victorian era's fashion quirks like men enhancing their calves. Additionally, inspired by the myth of Narcissus, the project relates this idea to modern masculinity, particularly in sports. Skelton’s commitment to sustainability, using repurposed fabrics and eco-friendly practices, reshaped the understanding of ethical fashion, targeting consumers who value slow fashion and British heritage, seeking garments with meaningful stories.

Hot Sauna Pants Incorporates elements inspired by the insulating and heat-retentive properties of sauna pants, aiming to enhance thermal comfort and create a unique tactile experience. The project blends technical innovation with practical design, resulting in functional and visually striking outerwear. The use of translucent and transparent materials adds a futuristic element, while the detailed stitching and seam techniques reflect a high level of craftsmanship and attention to detail. The inspiration from sauna pants brings a unique focus on thermal comfort and tactile experience, making the garments not only visually appealing but also functionally advanced.
