About
Jayden is a Toronto-based story artist and illustrator, adept at working with a variety of digital software and video-editing tools. She focuses on animation, art, and strong narrative-centred work as a way to express herself creatively.
Jayden previously attended Sheridan College for Art Fundamentals and later transferred to OCAD University from Humber College’s 3D Animation program in her first year. She recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, majoring in Experimental Animation with a minor in Illustration.
She is an active volunteer within the OCAD and broader animation community, contributing to TAFFI (Toronto Animation Arts Festival International), various EXAN events, and orientation programs for incoming OCAD students and first-year students. Jayden has also exhibited work through the Global Postcard Project, which was shown in Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, and South Korea. Jayden has also recently completed a placement on a documentary with Urubu Films, where she worked as an animation production coordinator and animator.
The Siren is a four-and-a-half minute short animated film inspired by traditional fairy tales and ocean mythology. The story follows a young couple attempting to leave their isolated hometown, where the only way out is by ship. When the captain refuses to allow women on board due to an old superstition, the couple is forced to stow away, ultimately uncovering the truth behind the myth and the real danger in the ocean: sirens.
