Looking to find alternative solutions in the design world to reduce waste and reach sustainable goals.
The SloT-Table is an example of an optimized production cycle, which ensures that minimal material is being used to produce a durable and aesthetically pleasing product. It takes advantage of the tube metal frame's stiff recoil properties to attach it to the wooden beam support structure using tension, meaning no extra glue or fittings are required. The glass sheet sits on top of this to complete the coffee table, and the consistent 6cm radius curves in all three components help to marry the materials together as one harmonious product. Grub screws also allow the metal frame to be halved in size, taking up less space in transport. This way all of the components can be manufactured separately, and easily assembled by the user in situ.
