About
I am a Product Design Engineer with a strong interest in sustainable, material-led design and creating products that challenge conventional approaches to manufacturing and consumption. My practice combines engineering, hands-on making and creative problem solving, with a particular focus on circular design, material innovation and designing for repair and disassembly. I enjoy working across the design process, from research and concept development through to prototyping, testing and manufacture, and I am motivated by projects that can create meaningful environmental and social impact.
ohmen 1: A self-assembly modular loudspeaker made from Rice husk
Ohmen 1 is a self-assembly, modular loudspeaker designed to explore how high-quality audio products can be made more sustainable. Developed from RICETAB, a composite made using waste rice husk, the project challenges the conventional glued MDF speaker cabinet through a flat-pack construction that requires no adhesives and can be assembled, disassembled and repaired. The modular enclosure can be reconfigured between sealed and ported acoustic configurations, extending its functionality and lifespan. The project combines material research, circular design principles, engineering, prototyping and acoustic testing to demonstrate a more responsible approach to consumer electronics.
