I am in my final year of studying fashion design, fueled by a passion for storytelling that I strive to share with the world through my creative process and designs. In today's fast-paced modern life, I aim to remind people to embrace their uniqueness and convey meaningful messages through my work. I am always eager to explore new creative possibilities and integrate various accessibilities into fashion. My vision is straightforward: to inspire creativity and create a positive impact on the world through design.
The inspiration for my collection, “To Be The Wild Woman You Are,” began in my school classroom, where I have always been surrounded by a predominantly female environment. This led me to reflect on the role of women in the current fashion industry, particularly the challenges faced by female designers who are also mothers. In this fast-paced industry, which demands ultimate devotion, I questioned how women manage the balance between parenthood and their careers. As a female fashion student hoping to become a professional designer, I wanted to explore this relationship, raise these crucial questions, and bring awareness to the fashion industry about the need for support for women balancing motherhood and their professional lives.
This project was inspired by the film Poor Things, specifically focusing on its main character Bella. I aimed to explore her character development and her journey of self-exploration as she first came out to the world. The design incorporates elements of Korean traditional accessories like Daengi and Norigae, traditionally used by young girls in the Joseon Dynasty. Additionally, it utilizes a traditional knotting method called 'Dorae' for crafting details.
