About
I am an artist filmmaker currently interested in exploring themes such as memory and nostalgia through experimental and analogue mediums. Due to the experimental nature of my projects, I am particularly interested in working with installation setups such as multi-screen displays and projectors.
'Those Molten Years' is an Artists' Moving Image piece exploring artist 'Svetlana Boym's' theories of Reflective and Restorative Nostalgia. Presented as a dual-screen installation, my work portrays the tensions between imperfect remembrance and preservation. Navigating these concepts into the context of my own experiences with Nostalgia and childhood; I decontextualised my old photographs with processes such as film soup and other forms of material destruction. I am particularly drawn to the imperfections of analogue media; intentionally embracing them as a point of principle, forming the imperfect process of remembrance.
