About
My name is Francesca Fraser I grow up in Kent UK, where I studied multiply art forms such as ceramics and fine art in college before deciding to explore the world of fashion. I am greatly influenced by historical references and I’m always keen to learn about the history behind garments. I hope to carry on exploring creative fields after graduation and expand my knowledge on fashion and art history.
My project explores the idea of fragmentation through the deconstruction and contrasting of femininity and uniformity. I have been inspired by artist such as Alex, Sutcliffe, Rob Trati, Agnes Toth and Yee Sooyung along with my fashion archetype, the World War II sailors shirt. I also researched 18th century, rococo, silhouettes and corsets as they create a juxtaposition to the masculine military, wear.
