Florine Schmid is a visual artist based in Switzerland.
Her work revolves around the relationship between human and nature, where she investigates topics like Perception, Plant wisdom and Resilience.
By looking at microsystems she takes nature as a teacher, and as the main source of inspiration for her work.
Her purpose it to create awareness for topics like ecology, that reflect about our human existence.
In the age of the Anthropocene, humanity dominates nature, creating the illusion of a duality between the two. Duality means that opposing outcomes emerge from one and the same source. Although we are part of nature, we behave toward it in destructive ways. To me, the crises of perception and climate are side effects of this separation. In my project, I engaged with my frustration about the power imbalance between humans and nature and attempted to overcome this duality.
