About
Hello,
My name is Eva. I'm a 24-year-old photographer from the Netherlands. My work explores topics that can be overlooked in everyday life.
I want to tell personal stories and invite others to reflect on their place in the world. I do this by exploring my own identity, as well as that of others. Together, we explore the world around us. I photograph the deeper layers of what I see, to capture something of the inner self of my subjects: dreams, feelings, their view of the world, what defines them.
I do this with analog medium format photography, but I also enjoy combining it with other media.
Tangerine is about Neve, a friend who doesn’t shy away from her fears and chooses what makes her happy. We met while studying photography at the Utrecht School of the Arts in 2021. Although our paths diverged, Neve went to Ghent, I stayed in Utrecht, our friendship remained strong. I admire her development into the unique woman she is today. Through diary entries, she shows how she experiences the world and visualizes her search for identity and inner world. In this photo series, I capture that inner world through portraits, everyday scenes, and personal details, such as her bed and worn-out shoes. Tangerine is a visual story about growing up and the search for who you are, a process that, just like her, continues to grow.
