About
I am currently in my final year studying Textile Design at Arts University Bournemouth. I have a strong interest in textiles for fashion fabrics and accessories, especially in the childrenswear sector. I have a mixed media background, with my specialisms being print, embroidery and embellishment. I am actively seeking experience in the textile and fashion industry that will help me gain valuable skills for the future.
My project ‘Let’s Have a Picnic!’ is inspired by vintage picnics and nostalgia and is set in a woodland environment. I’ve used a vibrant colour palette to reflect the joy and play of being a child and to portray the summertime season. My project is an exploration into the textures and patterns of the picnic environment and the natural surrounding its set in, explored through methods of digital print, embroidery and hand embellishment. I’ve designed my collection for a Spring/Summer luxury girls wear range, reflecting the types of clothes I wanted to wear as a child and creating nostalgia for the parent. My love for colour, summertime and all things strawberry themed inspired this collection.
This project was based on a trip to a cat café and my love for cats! In this project I focused on hand and digital print methods, digital embroidery and embellishment. In blending these techniques, I conveyed fun and play through an autumn/winter collection for luxury girls clothing.
This project was inspired by marine and plant life within water environments. I developed this collection through print, stitch and embellishment processes to create fun and striking designs for designer girls clothes.
