HANg, freeze, crash - video game and hardware glitches meet victorian fashion
This project combines the aesthetics of video games and hardware glitches with Victorian-era fashion to create an imaginary space between history and the future. The goal is to celebrate traditional craftsmanship and slow fashion, while also critiquing the culture of fast fashion. My work emphasizes that clothing and technology should be used for the benefit of people, not merely as a source of income. The materials used include industrial and semi-industrial knitwear, woven Jacquard fabrics, and digital prints. Structural elements include corset techniques, crinoline, and tailoring materials. All materials were made by the artist. Glitch effects influence the garments’ shapes, the appearance of the materials, and their behavior.
