I grew up in the tiny Romansh village Surrein in the alps of Grison in Switzerland. My work as a spatial designer but also an artist focuses on the dialogue between the existing spatial atmosphere, architecture, and interventions through objects– a symbiotic interaction between content, object, space recipient, and dramaturgy. Intimately, I try to grasp the aura of spaces and (re)present them interwoven with models, installations, walk-in sculptures, and sound. My practice is influenced by concepts of spatial sociology, body phenomenology, and questions about the recognition of spatial, physical, or metaphysical space. I'm driven by aspects of sculpting and its transformation developing beyond materialized relationships into arguments of contemporary dialogs of the human and its daily confrontation with introspection, projection, and self-presentation in hybrid environmental constitutions.
The bachelor thesis «Bädli – Bogn Tenigia» is dedicated to the historical, architectural and cultural development of the former health resort Tenigerbad. Since bankruptcy in 1976, the remaining building structures of the Tenigerbad stand unused in the landscape of Val Sumvitg in the Grisons in Switzerland. Physical models and visualizations show possible scenarios of use as well as reconstructed and new arrangements of spaces of the former Tenigerbad, built in 1896, also called Bädli. «What was everyday life like in the Bädli? How was the drinking and bathing culture practiced? What might the future Bädli look like?» Today after 47 years, the Tenigerbad finally found new owners - hopefully a new era is beginning.
