Danique Voskamp is a multidisciplinary designer based in South Holland, the Netherlands. Drawing from her background in graphic design, she creates work that sparks joy, curiosity and a sense of play. Her artistic practice spans installation art, product design and 3D work, often built from a variety of materials.
Inspired by nature, imagination and the unknown, Danique designs soft, organic forms with a surreal twist. Using gentle pastel colours and tactile shapes, her work sits between the familiar and the otherworldly, inviting viewers to reconnect with childlike wonder and explore their own imagination.
Through playful visual worlds and tangible 3D pieces, she aims to turn ordinary moments into small experiences of magic, where nature and fantasy mee
The Elsewhere explores the themes of escapism and wonder. The project investigates what allows people to become fully immersed in another world, drawing inspiration from both video games and nature. Interaction, movement and discovery emerged as essential elements in creating this sense of immersion. At the same time, the project explores a physical alternative to the increasingly digital ways in which we experience imaginary worlds. Ceramic became the central material of the project. Its tactile qualities, spatial possibilities and ability to create a wide variety of textures formed the foundation for a fantasy world inspired by coral reef ecosystems. The installation consists of a collection of ceramic objects that together form a single ecosystem. A marble moves through this landscape like a traveller, following different paths and occasionally emerging in unexpected places. This creates an interactive experience in which the outcome is never entirely predictable. The world can also be explored without the marble. Visitors are invited to move around the installation, observe its forms and discover its hidden details. Hollow spaces and ceramic elements create subtle sounds, adding another sensory layer to the experience. The installation is designed for adults who spend much of their daily lives behind screens, offering a moment to physically step outside their familiar environment. The marble acts as a simple invitation to play, encouraging visitors to reconnect with curiosity, exploration and their inner child. The Elsewhere demonstrates how a physical material can be used to create not just an object, but an entire imaginary world one that invites people to slow down, explore and temporarily escape into somewhere else. In the fast world we are living in today, surrounded by screens, virtual realities, and endless digital possibilities, this work offers a different experience, one that is physical, tactile, and present. Every form has been shaped by hand, inviting a moment of pause and observation. The Elsewhere is a place for exploration, play, and mental reset. Leave your thoughts behind for a moment and simply watch as the marble journeys through its world.
