Caroline Scott is a fashion designer, born and based in Atlanta, GA. Specializing in lingerie, she has just finished her undergrad collection at The Savannah College of Art and Design; graduating Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Fashion. She is both inspired by and a collector of vintage lingerie and has tremendous appreciation for how much detail goes into such small garments. She is passionate about creating sustainably and always incorporates upcycling into her designs.
"Doll Parts" is a lingerie collection by Caroline Scott, drawing inspiration from a personal collection of vintage lingerie and a lifelong love of playing dress up. "Doll Parts" is also inspired by muse Lydia, who one day uncovers a mysterious trunk in her attic. Curiosity gets the better of her and she discovers it's filled with well-loved and beautifully designed lingerie with signs of age and past repair. She’s overcome with a sense of wonder and of course begins to try everything on. “Doll Parts” takes design inspiration from a range of vintage styles, from Elizabethan era corsetry to the bullet bras and girdles of the 1950s. Garter straps and distressed stockings are both decorative and functional, while upcycled lace garter belts, ruffled undies, and cutouts add to the flirty aesthetic of the collection. The colors and well-worn appearance of materials are achieved through hand-dyeing, distressing and sun-bleaching. This collection is made up of interchangeable pieces that feel instantly collectable.
