About

We are a multidisciplinary team of four- Aakash, Burcak, Megan and Zeynep. Developed El Filandón- as our final project for the Master in Interior Design and Interior Architecture (MIDiA) at ELISAVA and was awarded the Elisava Master's People's Choice Award.

El Filandón is where the unheard, unseen, and untold stories of the small town of Cerezales meet contemporary art. Conceived as a cultural record to combat rural abandonment, the project features a central archive representing a flame that keeps local memory alive. The facade of the archive is clad in perforated Corten steel that weathers and evolves over time, mirroring the gradual shifting of memory while casting dynamic shadows and silhouettes reminiscent of a dancing fire. Radiating outward, the surrounding spaces invite people to connect, converse, and pass down stories, creating a platform where multidisciplinary artists transform these narratives into creative expressions. The project bridges local heritage with conscious tourism to establish a celebratory space where visitors, artists, and locals connect through meaningful storytelling.
