About
Visual Communication Master’s graduate combining strategic, audience-focused design with a strong passion for cultural themes. Alongside versatile design projects, I specialize in blending heritage with modern visual language such as reinterpreting Iznik art through contemporary linocut printing. My goal is to use design as an inviting bridge, making cultural stories accessible to Western audiences.
Many own Turkish textiles as mere decor, unaware they speak a complex visual language. This two-volume project counters cultural illiteracy through reverse-commercialization—translating the structural logic of kilim weaving directly into a systematic editorial layout. Volume One, Çözgü (Warp), structures traditional Anatolian motifs through a three-part analysis (semantics, morphology, stylistic features) and original Turkish terminology, equipping readers to decode pattern variations independently. Volume Two, Atkı (Weft), expands this system by translating Turkish mythology into newly designed, original motifs. Together, Çözgü and Atkı transform passive artifacts into a living communication system.
