I’m Estelle Barker, a fashion designer based in London and a recent First Class Honours graduate in Fashion Design.I’m interested in the instinctive side of fashion, the way we use clothes to express who we are, how we feel, and the experiences that shape us. I’m drawn to clothing that feels lived-in, individual and a little unexpected, rather than overly polished or perfect. My work often starts with people, attitudes and imagery, which I translate through silhouette, colour, texture and detail.For my graduate collection, I explored the idea of dressing with instinct and the relationship between clothing and identity. Alongside the garments, I designed and made my own bags and customised footwear, treating the accessories as an integral part of the collection rather than an afterthought.I enjoy the whole process of making, from collecting images and developing ideas, to experimenting with materials, building silhouettes and seeing something exist physically for the first time. I’m particularly interested in accessories and product, and in the small details that can give a piece its character.I’m now looking to work within a creative design environment where I can keep pushing my ideas, learn from other designers and contribute to work that feels considered, expressive and relevant.
