About

Khazaria uses They/Them pronouns. Khazaria Curzon is a London based designer and writer. Their work focuses on the shifting patterns of internet culture and its effect on both built and fictional worlds. Their recent graduate project 'Through a Sensor, Darkly' centres on the PSYOP and internet conspiracy in digital worlds of collapsed truth. They work through the mediums of film, sound, graphics, writings, code and carpentry.

Through a sensor, darkly

‘Through a Sensor, Darkly’ transforms aerial movements into generative sound. Borrowing from the visual language of radar and UFOs, it captures aircraft data: height, speed, and distance, converting digital intangibility into sensory experience. The project is multidisciplinary demonstrating woodwork, metalwork, coding, sound design, graphics, and film. It includes the short film, ‘The Third Impact’ depicting imagery and video scraped from web sources and provides a visual context to the world of digital conspiracy. ‘Through a Sensor, Darkly’, describes a smoke screen, an obscuring of realities that occurs within digital spaces. Centring on the UFO as historically symbolic of conspiracy, it traces aerial glitches on digital plane tracker sites. It is a result of a year-long exploration into the nature of the real and the mutations of conspiratorial and PSYOP mindsets that exist online. Everything is questioned and perceptions are easily manipulated in the digital sphere.
