Installation with steel, mirrors, and archival pigment prints (80 x 60 cm) Latex print on cotton fabric (1200 x 150 cm) The world has been ending for billions of years is a contemplative work, based on the idea that anything that has a beginning must also have an end. From that point of view, everything around us and within us can be seen as a part of the gradual, ongoing process of the world’s ending. It is an attempt to understand the impermanence of human life in relation to the vast and eternal universe. The photographs show surfaces and textures of natural and synthetic materials which, using light and unusual perspectives, the artist transforms into cosmic landscapes where the micro and the macro intertwine. The installation invites the viewer to move around the space and determine the way it is seen. The images are reflected in mirrors, multiplied and appearing in several places at once. The viewer reflects in them as well and is faced with their own presence within the ending world. This project was developed with the support of a scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia.
