About
Hi, I'm Bella! I’m a senior Fashion and Fibers student at the Savannah College of Art and Design with a strong focus on sustainable design. Growing up in Rhode Island has shaped much of my creative perspective, and my work often draws from the shoreline, ocean textures, and coastal environments. I’m passionate about blending textiles and fashion, with a particular love for print design and an ongoing obsession with fabrics and material exploration. Outside of my design work, I enjoy spending time near the water, listening to music, and discovering new restaurants to add to my Beli list.
Inspired by my time living on a sailboat, The Water Becomes Me critiques the endless human pursuit of happiness and desire for what comes next. The story follows my muse as she attempts to solo sail across the world, but as she drifts deeper into the silence of the sea, her grasp on reality begins to unravel. Through textiles inspired by bioluminescent sea life, weathered sails, and maritime uniforms, the collection transforms coastal aesthetics into distorted, engulfing silhouettes. Blending feminine and masculine elements, the work explores the tension between escapism and isolation, freedom and surrender, romance and destruction.
