About

Czacarri Muli is a Filipino-Irish illustrator and designer bringing a sense of warmth & care through playful image-making. His narrative approach to illustration seeks to connect people and inspire important conversations. Developing a community driven ethos that has nurtured an empathetic practice concerned with heritage storytelling and social change. He has been recognised by the Association of Illustrators as a 2026 Illustration Graduate to Watch and is currently a Raising Voices Fellow with Children’s Book Ireland. From championing diverse stories and engaging children through a textural, colourful and hands-on approach he is consistently committed to award winning projects. When Czacarri is not covered in paints, pastels and post-its, he can be found smelling the roses.

This silent picturebook reflects on the Irish seascape. With 90% of its territory lying within the seas and currently less than 10% of it protected, this story champions the responsibility of caring. This lack of protection means that trawling ships overharvest the seas that have held such a connection within local cultures. A local fisherman, the threat of a barren sea and a trawling ship polluting his home engage children globally to empathise with a story that is not solely unique to Ireland. Highlighting the importance of stewardship and preserving the magical and diverse seas.
