About

My name is Luanna Pucci and I am 23 years old. I was born and raised in Brazil and moved to Ireland in 2015. Currently, I am based in Limerick, Ireland and I'm a graduate student of a bachelor's degree in Fashion & Textiles for Product and Costume at Limerick School of Art and Design - TUS.I'm very passionate about developing textile design, especially knitwear, and creating digital media through Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. I am always eager to learn new skills and am always looking for an opportunity to develop my professional life within the Fashion and Textile industry.

This graduate collection was inspired by an 'explosion of textures' and vibrant colours experienced while I lived in Barcelona for five months in 2022, hence why the project name is Textural Blast. The primary source of inspiration for the collection was the 'La Caixa' tapestry created by Joan Miró and Josep Royo in 1980, which I saw during an exhibition in the city. I have used primary images of the tapestry and other places I visited in Barcelona as part of the research and inspiration. The textiles in the collection aimed to explore textures and bright colours extensively, with the depth and volume of the textures representing the highs and lows of my experience of living in Barcelona. The collection was predominantly made up of knitted textiles, and I have used various techniques, such as partial knitting, fringing, and weaving, and explored different weights of yarn and layering. My intent was to create visually stunning textiles that reflected my personal experience and embodied the inspiration found in Miró's work and the vibrant culture of Barcelona.
