About

Rose Brown Langtry is a menswear designer graduating her master's degree in Fashion Design in 2022. She specialises in reflective materials, using her own hand-dyeing technique to create reflective menswear in a wide range of colours. Her design philosophy includes many sustainable practices such as zero waste techniques, the use of Supima cotton and deadstock mohair. Her latest collection 'Pink Punk Puke' encourages gentlemen to skate to work, the reflective materials illuminating them at night.

A project focussing on sustainability and upcycling, turning bowling shoes into clothes; starting off as Lucky Strike and developing into Spin-to-Win over time. ‘Spin-to-Win’ is a six look collection, inspired by retro bowling and arcade games. The aim of the project is to upcycle disused bowling shoes, to prevent them from ending up in landfill. They will be sourced, washed using eco-soaps, deconstructed and then the leather parts will be engineered into a range of garments, while the soles will be sent to a recycling plant. The velcro shoe straps will be used as the main design features/garment fastenings and the rest of the clothing will be constructed using leather scraps from GHleathers, who only use skins that are a by product of the meat industry. This project captures the nostalgia of vintage bowling alleys and the playfulness of arcades, while working towards an environmentally friendly fashion future and contemporary trends in 2023.
