About
As a multi-disciplinary illustrator, motion designer and maker, through interaction and audience engagement, my work aims to engage new levels of visual learning to educate, enlighten and entertain. I always approach work with drive, excitement and a keen attention to detail, and I relish the challenges of creative-problem solving to enrich my practice and deliver effective outcomes. The unique perspective of the world in my work is inspired by community-driven placemaking – through interpreting topical conversations with targeted campaigns, making someone’s day through humorous social interactions or encouraging new understanding with thought-provoking messages that highlight shared values. I enjoy teamworking and collaboration to encourage community building and social engagement. My ambitions, paired with the exciting and rapidly evolving creative industry opportunities feeds my enthusiasm and inspires my practice. I’m excited by the future and eager to communicate to audience big and small.
The decline of third spaces and the increased vulnerability that comes with age has contributed to the current loneliness epidemic. This project explores how connection has helped combat loss and loneliness within my family. The disconnection during the COVID-19 pandemic increased my Nana’s vulnerability, escalating her dementia. Her passing in 2023 as well as my Great Auntie’s passing earlier this year has also made my Grandad more vulnerable. Connection got him through. The ringing of a phone or chatter of a community can break the silence of solitude. Maintaining an active, sociable and connected life with friends, family and community groups has provided my Grandad with a support net through the grief of loss. I believe every elderly person should have this connection. With the World Health Organisation declaring loneliness as a global health issue, staying connected, even over the phone, can show our loved ones that they are not alone.
