About
Wei Tan is an environment concept designer and visual development lead with over ten years of experience in game production. Her work explores how architecture and atmosphere influence people’s emotions, movement, and experience of space.
SCAB is an architectural development game that metaphorically addresses the psychological trauma caused by war through its building mechanisms. As players continuously upgrade and repair structures, the game uses bodily mapping as a form of art therapy. It offers survivors of war trauma an alternative method to process their experiences. The game utilises virtual reality, real-time interaction, clue-based audio, and other technologies to immerse players in the historical events of Sarajevo. Through immersive experiences and emotional resonance, under certain positive conditions, it shifts the focus towards the future, allowing survivors to view life comprehensively, rather than solely associating it with the trauma they endured.
