About
My name is Thea Hunter and I am a fashion design student studying at DeMontford, Leciester. I am passionate about fashion and drawing and want my work to be able to tell a story.
The concept of this project is based on how work can consume our lives—focusing on my parents' jobs, as they have so little time to relax. I repurposed items like my dad's 'old' work shirts (7 total) by deconstructing and using the fabric to create a modern design. I repurposed an old sweatshirt, giving it a new identity. I looked into creating a relaxed form of workwear, with more people working from home, wearing dressed down. Neon deadstock fabric relates to post-it notes at work and hi-vis jackets for night walks. Redefining fabrics through the use of patchwork pleated panels.
