Open Meadow (original Polish title: Miedza Miejska) explores the ecological potential of overlooked strips of urban greenery. The project introduces a 3D-printed, open-source seed dispenser with accessible sowing instructions, inviting passersby to participate in a shared act of transformation. Through collective engagement, neglected lawns can gradually turn into vibrant meadows. Meadows are resilient ecosystems that flourish in challenging conditions, improve water retention, and capture suspended particulate matter along with other pollutants. By initiating small-scale interventions, a dry patch of grass can evolve into an active climatic buffer. The waterproof roll-up bag holds over one kilogram of plant material and can be easily attached to small urban structures or carried by hand. With its vivid colors and minimalist print, the bag doubles as a mobile brochure, signaling and promoting the green guerrilla action. The project is further extended through open-source events and workshops designed to promote urban meadows as inclusive, low-maintenance, and ecologically valuable elements of the city landscape.
