Passionate about storytelling and developing new ideas, Xiaoyu is a creative director and producer working across various forms of animation. No Stars Allowed is her graduation film in Character Animation from Central Saint Martins, exploring themes of pretending, belonging, and identity through light and a handcrafted visual world.
No Stars Allowed is a 4-minute stop-motion animation film. In a world where stars are forbidden, the story follows a small glowing star that tries to survive by pretending to be human and blending into a busy corporate office, until something goes wrong.
