About
Gioanna De Julio was born and raised in Southern California. As a child, she originally wanted to be a scientist but after taking a sewing class in high school, she switched career paths to become a designer. Originally thinking of being a costume designer, she finally decided to be a fashion designer instead and incorporate styling. Her design philosophy has always been "don’t dress to impress but dress to express".Gioanna's main focus is women's and men's ready-to wear clothing but is also interested in fashion styling. She is inspired by many things which allows her to not solely focus on a specific type of fabric, print, graphic, season, and color range. As a designer she aims to be as sustainable as possible with the creation of her design process by using pattern-making in digital format and recycling fabric remains. She enjoys draping but prefers structure.
This is a concept I am calling neon noir. I am mixing my futuristic aesthetic with a style called tech wear. I am going to use black and white as base colors and create the neon effect with uv and glow in the dark paint and reflective and iridescent fabric. This collection is fall/winter and is streetwear.
