About
I once tried to be normal, but it didn’t work out. So now I make films. Creating films isn’t just about telling stories for me, it’s a way of questioning the world I’ve inherited and giving voice to those who were never allowed one. I believe art should disturb, heal, and stay with you long after it ends and that belief shapes everything I make.
Naatak explores how political decisions and invisible borders quietly reshape ordinary lives. Rather than focusing on large historical events, the film looks at their emotional impact through the intimate relationship between a mother and her daughter. The children’s street play acts as a subtle mirror to the world around them, questioning ideas of belonging, land, and identity. Through silence, everyday moments, and folk memory, the film reflects on loss, authority, migration, and the human cost of division. It also reflects on the tension between village and city life where the village represents belonging and rootedness, while the city feels like an unknown force that slowly consumes people, as if even its air can swallow them whole.
