About
Material lead textile designer, inspired by and reinterpreting the knit structure using mixed media, digital print and embroidery in an innovative and tactile approach. Working for a Fashion context, towards high end couture outcomes. Prioritising found and repurposed materials.
"Intertwined" consists of fashion accessory and conceptual runway materials. Symbolising the merge and contrast of natural and man-made qualities found within an abandoned estate - Baron Hill, Anglesea, Wales, as my initial inspiration. All main samples captured in collaboration with AUB Commercial Photography contain or pair with knit varieties or imagery, pushing the boundaries of traditional knit associations and limitations. The final collection consists of solely of dead-stock or scrap plastic and leather, reworked. My attraction to open structure and transparency has fuelled the material and construction choices creating a bright lively collection with delicate details and multi-layered processes.
