About
I am a graphic designer and visual artist currently based in Glasgow, working across graphic design, publishing, readymade objects and spatial installation. My practice is conceptual and research-driven, often exploring personal experience, public space, everyday observation and material form, as well as the ways they translate into one another and the boundaries between them.I see making as a method of research, observation and thinking. My work often begins with personal feelings and fragments of everyday life, translating these experiences into publications, posters, printed matter, objects and installations. Moving from individual experience towards broader spatial, cultural and communicative contexts, my work considers the shifting relationship between people and their surrounding environment.
“Space is a doubt: I have constantly to mark it, to designate it, It is never mine, never given to me, I have to conquer it.”– Georges Perec (1974). I used Glasgow Charing Cross station as a site of observation and intervention to explore the relationship between liminality, personal identity, and urban transitional space. Through posters, experimental newspapers, and public-space actions, the project investigates how personal experiences can reshape the way we see, read, and understand everyday urban spaces.
