From the moment I grasped the essence of art and technology, I found myself irreversibly drawn towards their confluence. Blurring the boundaries between my two absorptions in recent years is leading me to my artistic apotheosis. My origins in traditional painting now contrast with my present work, where my canvas is the digital realm, and my brush strokes are rendered in pixels. My creative interests lie within the captivating scope of abstract desire, hypnotism and the divine. My work explores the cyclical yearning for knowledge, a transformative interplay between technology and worship, ultimately manifesting in art forms that echo an unconventional beauty. Hypermnesia is an entrancing digital artwork exhibited at my degree show in June 2023 at UAL Camberwell and in August 2023 at Mall Galleries in London, the work harmoniously intertwines fractals, worship and hypnotism. It consists of six 3D rendered fractal videos composed into a video sequence with a custom score. The individual works are: - Sierpinski - Hypertrophy - Paenitentia - Palimpsest - Diplasios - Amalgam The final video 'Amalgam' provokes religious symbols in the context of hope, anger and control, this acts as a final apotheosis of my degree. The red and green fog lights act as a scanning implement, as if the form is being analysed by light. The sound design includes auditory elements of thumping and clockwork noises, they add a sense of hypnotism which juxtaposes the forcing of religious ideals that has inspired the work. In the piece the viewer perceives different angles of the crucifix, this birds eye view distorts the structure of the crucifix and is presented as turning clock with molecular-like structures orbiting infinitely. This reflects the tone of the work, looking at Christian imagery from a modern perspective and creating a new realm of digital worship.
