About
I am a Scottish 2D/3D animator and designer, with an interest in creating bright characters, and simple entertaining narratives. I studied animation at Edinburgh College of Art, which exposed me to the work of many other talented young animators, and created an environment that allowed me to develop my technical skills and understanding of animation immensely I have a passion for combining 2D and 3D elements together, and the problem solving involved in compositing shots. I hope to get a foothold in the animation industry through working on short films and independent projects, while continuing to produce my own work.
My animated graduate film ‘Hoax Encounters’ follows a trio of Alien nature enthusiasts visiting Earth, who accidentally abduct a group of Hikers while trying to steal their camera. The film switches perspectives between the 2 groups, with the charming hijinks of the Aliens being reframed as ominous and frightening through the lens of the Hikers’ camera. I animated the characters in 2D and integrated them into a multitude of 2D/3D environments constructed from hand painted assets.
