Hair as Freedom Series Cut Plaits This three-piece series in ceramic and stoneware honors the Women, Life, Freedom movement that began in Iran in 2022. Witnessing the courage of Iranian women protesting after the tragic death of a young woman, I was deeply moved by their acts of defiance—removing headscarves, cutting hair—against oppression. Through these works, I capture their bravery as they fight against gender inequality and violence. The series represents three stages: "Trapped," "Breaking Free," and "United," each reflecting the journey from repression to collective strength.
