About
I’m a curious and playful designer with a strong interest in furniture and form. I recently graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Design from HDK-Valand in Gothenburg. I’m especially drawn to geometric shapes and modular solutions, and I enjoy exploring how simple parts can be combined in new ways. In my work, I aim to find a balance between a clean, timeless expression and playful details. I like developing ideas through sketching, building and testing, allowing materials and construction to become an important part of the design process.
In my degree project, I explored how a piece of furniture can be both fixed and changeable through the development of a modular furniture system in wood. The project explores how furniture can have a clear and sculptural expression while remaining flexible and able to change over time. The result is a modular system in oak, where identical parts can be combined in different ways to create several types of furniture, including a stool and two sizes of coffee tables. The system is based on a recurring geometric form, where the number of modules and choice of tabletop determine the function and size of the furniture. An important part of the project was creating a system entirely in wood, without screws or metal fittings. The modules interlock and can easily be assembled, disassembled and reconfigured. By combining digital modelling in Rhino with physical prototypes and material testing, I developed a construction that balances stability, precision and flexibility. The project resulted in a cohesive furniture system focused on function, simplicity and adaptability, with the potential to be developed into additional types of furniture in the future.
