About
Hi I'm Ellie! I'm a recent graduate of Manchester School of Art with a first-class honors in Graphic Design. I have an interest in branding, type design, illustration and craft led work. My design process is deeply research driven and I love creating work inspired by archived material, place, community and history. I'm particularly focused on how design can have a genuine positive impact towards communities and groups of people.
'Go Up Tunstall' is a response to a brief set in partnership with Public Studio, London: 'Rebrand a town with the aim of breathing life back into its high street.' The project uses language and design to explore Tunstall's past and present, drawing on its history, identity and community. By celebrating what makes Tunstall unique while presenting it with a fresh, contemporary voice, the rebrand aims to challenge negative perceptions and encourage a renewed sense of town pride. Ultimately 'Go Up Tunstall' seeks to bring people together, strengthen community spirit and inspire a more positive future for the high street.
