“Thieving magpies, rise and fall of a -twinkle-“ draws its inspirational foundations from a film by Elio Petri, "Il maestro di Vigevano" (1963), set entirely in my hometown. The "thieving magpie" couple of the movie are attracted by a dreamy glimmer of life that was appearing in the economic boom of footwear industry in my city. My goal was to create a silhouette through the fusion between the revisited men's loafer and the item of clothing, erasing the physical division between the two. Significant has been my incessant search for overseas exotic details which contrast with my bursting streak of handmade craftsmanship in Italy.
