Hi! I'm Yarden, a graduate of the Industrial Design program at Bezalel Academy in Jerusalem. Inspired by my surrounding: streets, people, culture and beyond them. I integrate design across different disciplines in the visual and functional fields. My aspiration is creating minimal, iconic designs that connect with users and the environment, all while steadfastly pursuing the principles of sustainable design.
FrostEco - Revitalizing Agriculture Waste: Frozen Tablets from salvaged produce
The extent of food loss in Israel is about 7000 tons a day, 70% of which is agricultural produce – fruits and vegetables. About 50% of the lost food is salvageable and edible. How can we give a second life to discarded produce and increase its value? The project presents a solution for reducing waste by creating frozen tablets from salvaged agricultural produce. The fruits and vegetables are chopped up and frozen in molds, in a process that preserves their taste, color, and nutritional value. The tablets offer a sustainable gastronomic experience that adds more food making possibilities for home cooks.
