Marriott Witney (MW) is a contemporary illustrator/ storyteller working in Poole, Dorset, who relishes in building worlds. As a creative who graduated from Arts University Plymouth (AUP) in 2026, her work displays the process of creation, bringing to life something from nothing, as being truly invigorating. As a practitioner she enjoys the process and architecture of a design the most thrilling part of creation as having the opportunity to construct your own worlds as a sense of freedom or escapism is truly a privilege of what it means to be human. With a practise that dances between digital risographs and traditional inking, Marriott's work takes pride in portraying an engaging narrative including platforms from complex seek and find illustrations to humorous comics, her work is guaranteed to display new discoveries with each viewing. Growing up in the 2010s she was exposed to regular cartoons from the era including 'Adventure Time' and 'Over the Garden Wall' to which she draws her aesthetic from. Due to this animated early influence, Marriott has also shifted her creative practise into creating animated mediums with her main interest revolving around storyboard design. Her work is for anyone who has a tired eye and is seeking an engaging visual language to depict a fun narrative although she aims her illustrations towards Middle Grade and Young Adult audiences who enjoy a playful fictional sequence alongside eye-catching visuals.
