About
As a textile designer specialising in surface pattern design, my practice balances intuitive creativity with strong foundations in research and theory. My work is driven by a considered use of colour and a focus on designing for wellbeing, placing the user at the centre of my practice. I combine handcrafted processes such as screenprinting and various drawing techniques with competent digital skills in Adobe Photoshop, enabling me to create versatile designs across markets including womenswear and interiors. I am highly motivated to further develop my practice through professional experience, contributing a thoughtful, research-led approach to contemporary textile design.
Feeling Colour is a research-led interior textile collection exploring the relationship between neuroaesthetics, colour, and sensory-led design within interior spaces. The project investigates how colour, texture, pattern, and materiality can influence mood, emotional response, and sensory experience, considering the restorative potential of interiors beyond aesthetics alone. Grounded in neuroaesthetic principles, the collection explores how interiors can encourage sensory engagement through visually balanced compositions, cognitively accessible patterns, layered textures, and immersive use of colour. By considering the way individuals emotionally and physically respond to their surroundings, the project aims to create interior surfaces that support wellbeing through sensory interaction and spatial atmosphere. Sensory observations and environmental references are translated into layered surface designs and refined through digital print, screen-print, and tactile techniques including flock and foil. Spanning upholstery fabrics and wallpaper, the collection creates an immersive interior language designed to encourage connection with the senses and promote emotionally supportive, sensory-rich environments.
