In the context of contemporary fashion’s constant change and pursuit of novelty, the collection returns to the fundamental relationship between the human body, material and garment form. The collection becomes a metaphor for the individual’s liberation from excess — like a butterfly emerging from its chrysalis into a lighter and more open state. At the same time, it explores the transformation of silhouette. The collection examines how material establishes a relationship with the body, how silhouette envelops it, transforms bodily experience and gradually becomes lighter. Heavy, cocoon-like structures inspired by the early 20th century transition into lighter, floating layers of silk organza. Historical principles of form are translated into a contemporary, wearable wardrobe of coats, denim and shirts, emphasising the continuity of clothing beyond a single season. The majority of the one-of-a-kind pieces are made from natural fibres and fabrics, including wool, nettle fibre, cotton and silk. Their properties allow for slow, handmade textile processes such as felting and nuno felting, creating unique surfaces and extending the possibilities of material use. Raw cotton denim is bleached to create transitional colour effects. Earrings made from real silkworm cocoons further extend the chrysalis motif. The collection is grounded in one-of-a-kind design, conscious material choices, experimental textile processes and a slower approach to production.
