About
I approach the design process with a creative and open-minded perspective, constantly seeking new sources of inspiration. In my work, I consider personal development, discovering new solutions, and consciously stepping beyond familiar boundaries to be essential. I see design as a form of visual communication capable of conveying ideas and values. I am particularly interested in combining different techniques, materials, and approaches, as well as exploring innovative solutions. My goal is to create works that reflect a unique perspective and leave a lasting impression.
I reimagined Roy Lichtenstein’s Ben-Day dots technique, as well as the Pop Art and comic book culture of the 1950s, and brought them into the 21st century. The central focus of the project was the representation of emotions through colour, as experiencing and expressing emotions has become increasingly difficult in today’s world. For this reason, I chose a contemporary comic that explores this very subject: Absolute Martian Manhunter. I translated scenes and elements of its story into the Ben-Day dots technique. I selected scenes from the comic, enlarged and transformed them, and developed a new concept from them. The project also explores the mixing of colours through the contemporary CMYK colour system. The final artwork is a 3-metre-long woven textile that tells a story through colourful shapes and spots. The other two textiles were created using screen printing and digital printing. When viewed, they are intended to evoke an “emotional shock” in the viewer, just as the comic itself does, and as experienced by the protagonist of my designs.
